Vinegar Recipes

DEODORIZER

1/2 water
1/2 vinegar

Spray bottle

It will smell like vinegar for a few minutes, but once dry, your things will smell fresh and clean!

You can also add 4-5 drops of essential oils to this mixture. Lavender works great, and hides the vinegar smell as well.

HARDWOOD FLOOR CLEANER

1 cup vinegar
2 tbsp dawn dish soap
2 tbsp ammonia

Ammonia can also be substituted for Murphy's Oil Soap. I use this once in awhile to brighten hardwood floors, especially areas that have been scratched and are highly trafficked.

CLEAN YOUR WASHER

2 cups of vinegar

Place vinegar in top loading washer and run your cycle as usual.

REMOVE WATER STAINS FROM WOOD

Equal parts Vinegar and Olive Oil on a rag

Apply in the direction of the wood grain and follow with a clean rag to shine up your wood

SHOWER CLEANER

Equal parts vinegar and water

Spray on tile and tub after showers to prevent build up of mildew. You can also increase the vinegar in your spray bottle for tough cleaning.

CLEAN FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Fill your sink with water
1 cup of Vinegar
2 tablespoons of lemon juice (or use as an alternative lemongrass essential oil)

Soak your fruits and vegetables in the mixture for 20 minutes or until clean. You will get grossed out by all the stuff that comes off your fresh produce! I typically recommend doing all of your produce right after purchase to save you time during the week when doing meal prep.

STEAM CLEAN YOUR MICROWAVE

1/4 cup of vinegar
1 cup of water

Zap in your microwave for 5 minutes on the highest setting

WASH THE DISHWASHER

1 cup undiluted vinegar

place in a bowl on the top rack, or in the bottom of the dishwasher and run your full cycle with no additives

This will deodorize your dishwasher  and help keep it in top performance!

CLEAN YOUR COFFEE MAKER

2 cups vinegar
1 cup water

Put a filter in your coffee pot and run a full brew cycle. Take the filter out and replace with a fresh one, run the cycle two more times without vinegar to rinse it out. If you have hard water run this every 40 cycles, 80 if you have soft water.

GLASS/ PLASTIC LAMINANT/ AND STAINLESS STEEL CLEANER

2 parts water
1 part vinegar
2 drop dishwashing liquid

MULTI PURPOSE CLEANER

Option 1:

1/2 cup vinegar
1 cup ammonia
1/4 cup baking soda

Option 2:

1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda

Shake and place in spray bottle. Feel free to use all over as a multi purpose spray! You can substitute ammonia for hydrogen peroxide. They both have the same disinfecting purpose, what you use is pure smell preference. You may also add 3-4 drops of essential oils of your choice to your smell preference as well!
